The company's Medicare Exchange web-site, www.UnitedMedicareX.com, deploys licensed software allowing consumers to shop coverage terms regarding alternate carriers, plans and premiums; and then, to purchase the plan they select on-line, disintermediating the traditional channel where Medicare insurance plans are typically offered through face-to-face, in-person meetings between single-company-contracted insurance agents (captive agents) and consumers. Licensed insurance agents at the United Medicare customer service center will also be available to chat on-line or provide assistance via an 8xx number.
